Padma Lakshmi Bio
Padma Parvati Lakshmi is a Indian from Chennai who was born
on September 1, 1970. Lakshmi was two years old at the time her parents
separated. Her mother moved to America to escape the shame of divorcing in
India. Lakshmi lived in Chennai with her maternal grandparents for two years,
before she moved to the United States. Her parents later got married, and she
has a younger half-brother and half-sister on her father's side. Lakshmi's name
is associated with the Hindu goddess, prosperity and wealth. She was born in
New York and raised in Los Angeles. Her family visited her in India several
times a year, and returned for several months. Padma Lakshmi became interested
in acting in 1999. She was first seen in the movie "Figlio di
Sandokan", an Italian pirate film. Next, she played a part in 'Caraibi’
(Pirates Blood Brothers), the drama about pirates of the 17th century. In 2001,
she portrayed an amusing part in the American movie 'Glitter,' as a disco
singer. Padma is the mother of a daughter, Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell, who is
married to Adam Dell, a venture capitalist. Krishna was born February 20th, the
20th of February, 2010. She was also married to Teddy Forstmann who is the
former chairman and CEO of IMG. Lakshmi and American venture capitalist Adam
Dell have a daughter, Krishna. Lakshmi later disclosed the identity of her
father to her daughter, though she kept it a secret initially. The daughter of
