Melanie Jayne Lynskey
Melanie Jayne Lynskey (born 16 May 1977)
is a New Zealand actress. She is well-known for her funny, soft-spoken and
strong character. She is mostly in independent films. Her achievements include
a New Zealand Film Award, a Hollywood Film Award and a Sundance Special Jury
Award, and Gotham Award, Golden Nymph Award, Critics' Choice Award, as well as
Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Lynskey's film debut was as a teenage
killer in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures (1994). After making the move to the
United States in 1994, Lynskey made a name for herself acting in supporting
roles in a range of large-budget and smaller-scale movies, such as Ever After
(1998) and Detroit Rock City and But I'm a Cherleader (both 1999), Coyote Ugly
(2000), Abandon and Sweet Home Alabama (1902), Shattered Glass (2003) and Flags
of Our Fathers (2006). Lynskey's lead role in the film Hello I Must Go (2012)
brought her praise from critics and also an nomination for the Gotham Award for
Breakthrough Performer. This was a crucial stage in her professional career.

film, Lynskey achieved fame with her role as Rose on the CBS sitcom Two and a
Half Men (2003-2015). From 2015 until 2016, she starred as Michelle Pierson on
the HBO series Togetherness that she received a nomination for the 2015 Critics
Choice Television Award for the Best Supporting Actress. She voiced Beatrice on
the Cartoon Network's Over the Garden Wall (2014) and Megan for Disney XD's
Future-Worm! (2016-2018). She also starred as Molly Strand on the first season
of Hulu's Castle Rock (2018) and played Rosemary Thomson in the FX miniseries
Mrs. America (2020).
