Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger, was born in
Katy, Texas on April 25 in 1969. Her mother, Kjellfrid (Andreassen) is a former
nurse and midwife born in Norway. Kven (Finnish), in addition to being of
Swedish as well as Norwegian descent. Emil Erich Zellweger is her father. He is
a Swiss engineer. The couple got became married in 1963. Renee is a sister to a
brother called Drew Zellweger, a marketing executive who was born on February
15 in 1967. Renee got interested in acting during high school while working on
the drama club. In Austin, she also attended an acting course and decided to
study acting as a profession. She was determined to pursue acting upon
graduation. However, Hollywood can be difficult to make it into so Renee
determined to remain in Texas and audition for roles in Houston. In Houston,
she was able to land roles in films such as Reality Bites (1994), and Empire
Records (1995). Matthew McConaughey (another Hollywood rising star) was her
friend while she was filming of Texas Chainsaw Massacre II: The Next Generation
(1994). Renee watched him work on a project which interested her. She
auditioned , and was chosen for the role in Love and A.45 (1994). The role
brought her critical acclaim that she decided to relocate to Los Angeles. Her
biggest break came when she was cast in another part in The Whole Wide World
(1996). Cameron Crowe was busy with casting Jerry Maguire (1996) starring Tom
Cruise. Crowe was considering actresses such as Bridget Fonda and Marisa Tomei
when they appeared on Zellweger's The Whole Wide World (1996). The audition was
conducted by Zellweger to make sure that the actress was in fact his Dorothy
Boyd. Following her success in a handful of independent movies, Renee felt
confident enough to go back to the big-budget Hollywood film industry. She was
a co-star with Meryl Streep in the tearjerker One True Thing (1998). She also
appeared in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) with Jim Carrey and shortly after
she began to date Jim Carrey. She played the title role in Bridget Jones's Diary
(2001).
