summer due to this. They've stayed in every state, with the exception of
Alaska. Amy also went to Rwanda after the war in 1994 to aid relief efforts.
Early on, Amy showed artistic talent acting in school productions and winning

Lanford Wilson's "Fifth of July" and Wallace Shawn's directorial
"Aunt Dan and Lemon". Amy was a Knox College student from Galesburg,
Illinois. She graduated with a B.A. East Asian history, with a concentration in
Theater. After graduation, she moved to Chicago where she pursued studies in
Improv at The Improv Olympics as well as acting at The Actor's Center. A job as
a contract actress on the now defunct soap drama Another World (1964) moved her
to NYC shortly after her graduation. She was nominated for the
"Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Drama Series" category
for Daytime Emmy Award. The most memorable of her roles were of strong women as
Alex Taylor in Third Watch (1999), Maggie Pistone in Falcone (2000), Katie Owen
in Peacemakers (2003) alongside Tom Berenger in Peacemakers (2003) and Linda
Reagan in Blue Bloods. Carlson lives in New York City with husband Syd Butler,
bassist for Les Savy Fav, where she also works in the independent music
business as part-owner of an independent label "Frenchkiss Records".
Amy is continuing to write and seek out diverse and unique roles in the world
