Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who formerly worked as the TV correspondent for ABC News. She is well-known for
her role as co-anchor on Good Morning America Weekend from 2014 to 2018 as well
as being co-host of The View from 2015 to the year 2018. Prior to this, she
hosted World News Now and America This Morning. After graduating, she worked in
several communications-related jobs including an operations position at
Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to the limited opportunities in
television, she landed an opportunity as a sales representative for radio. She
was hired as a WRGT/WKEF production assistant and then was promoted to reporter
and anchor. From 2002 until 2005, she was the sports anchor for weekends as
well as the sports anchor for weekdays at the WCPO-TV station in Cincinnati.
She was a sports reporter for the NBC's Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV from November
2005 to December 2011, after her contract ended. She was hired by ABC News the
news division in December of 2011. She joined ABC News for their World News Now
and America This Morning on January 2 in 2012. She was a correspondent and
fill-in for Good Morning America during this period. Later, she was promoted to
New York-based correspondent for all ABC News programs. Her final episode of
World News Now and America This Morning was broadcast on January 22nd 2013. On
August 9, 2014 she debuted as co-anchor of Good Morning America Weekend,
following the departure of Bianna Golodryga. The latter was transferred to
Yahoo! News. On the 25th of August, 2015, ABC announced that she would be
joining The View as a co-host for season 19. It was revealed on August 3, 2016
that she was renewed for her contract for the 20th season. Season 21 also got
renewed, with her hosting duties as co-hosts. She was most often seen on
episodes on Fridays of the 21st season and the 22nd season.
