Sarah Chalke

Sarah Chalke was born on 27 August 1976 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Angie Chalke is her mother and Doug Chalke are her father. She is the middle child. She has an older sister Natasha Chalke and one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah made her acting debut in a made-for-TV movie, City Boy (1992). In 1993, shortly after her debut film, she auditioned for the role of "Becky" on the TV show Roseanne (1988). The show was looking for an alternative to the character after Alicia Goranson quit the show to go to college. Sarah graduated from high school in 1995 as she was filming the 1994-1995 Roseanne (1988) season. In 1994, Sarah starred alongside Jim Varney in Ernest Goes to School (1994). In 1996, Sarah was a part-time actress in two movies: Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear (1996) as a cheerleader who was named Krista Wilson. Sarah was asked to play a character on a television show called Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998) which was a year following Roseanne (1988). Based on Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (2000), Sarah also participated in the show. Sarah was able to take over Becky's (1988) role from Alicia Goranson. She stated that she would like to stop acting and attend college. 2001 (1993-1997) She played Sara Gilbert's elder sister on Roseanne (1988), however, she is actually younger. Participated in the 1999 CCMA award ceremony, and was awarded an award for the top single of the year. [September 1999] At age 8 appeared in Vancouver theater productions. She is fluent in French and German. She is a volunteer at a hospice facility for terminally ill children and works for the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. Chalke is a cook who enjoys eating with friends (especially Thai or sushi) as well as play guitar or go on hikes, ski (she's an instructor) and kayaking. Her father is a lawyer, as are her parents mediators. They also run an agency for child adoption. Her parents took her to China to oversee the adoptions of many orphans.
