Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. Anne Burrell. Burrell hosts of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers simple, easy-to-learn techniques for the at-home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of the top New York restaurants, has been studying Italian cuisine and its traditions and has was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While living in the New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied to earn an English degree as well as a communications certificate in Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most enjoyable time of my life. It was impossible to take enough out of the experience. After graduation, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. In her time in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophies behind Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of struggling children. Burrell is also an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate in which she has a mission to raise awareness for juvenile diabetics. She talks about her culinary passion, and also shares her experiences in the food world when she is in the United States for the roles of speaker and mentor. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career she is incredibly fortunate to be able share with others what is truly important to her.
